I found myself in Arlington for work recently. Since it was going to be an overnighter, and I got there a little early, I decided to take a trip to the National Mall to see what it looked like during a pandemic. When I look at all the buildings in DC and imagine the decisions and debates that happen in their walls, and the impact those events have on our lives, I can’t help but get lost in thought. Just on the other side of the building was a memorial for Ruth Bader Ginsburg who had recently passed.
In just a couple months after this image was taken, the election would happen and it would be yet another historic event. I couldn’t have known when I took this photo how things would have unfolded. And even now, looking back on my prediction that it would be contentious, I don’t think I could have ever dreamt what would actually have happened.
